In Makariv, Ukraine, "Nashe Place" and the Kharkiv School of Architecture (KSHA) teamed up to create an amphitheater that suits the community's needs in Autumn 2023. They identified the requirements during a workshop in mid-September. The project is based on KSHA's "Spatial First Aid Kit," and it's built to cater to the unique needs of the locals. The theater can host different functions and events.
KSHA, established in 2017, is a private higher education institution that offers accredited bachelor's and licensed master's programs in architecture and urbanism. The school recognizes the changing social landscape and the challenges faced by the community. Therefore, it has been introducing post-war reconstruction studies into its curriculum.
The amphitheater is currently under construction in horodysche at Panskyi Park: the first multi-seated section is ready as of Nov 9, two more are to come. Upon completion, it may serve as a versatile cultural center, accommodating open-air cinema screenings, performances, gatherings, and other community-oriented activities. The Plast local scout organization and the children's journalistic circle have shown interest in this multipurpose space for their activities.
